Office:
In my last project the gathering, 'Puzzle' was my them.
So I developed that idea further and projected that 'puzzle' idea into three-domensional in
my office.
Movement:
MY animation shows the process of my sketching, it shows the movements of my hands.
By obseving the animation carefully I realised that my hand never stays on one drawing
until it finishes.
I get bored quite easily when i do the same thing over and over again, so I move onto something different to keep myself 'interested' in that area. When I was designing my office that's what happened, I draw one part of drawing and without finishing it I moved on to the other part of drawing, than to the other part and came back to the first one to finish it off.
So it's like an endless routine that moves around 'one point to another and ends up in the same place where it started'
I apllied that movement of "Moving and coming back to the original place" at the front of my facade and to the furniture and doors of my office.
Unlike my original site, my site in SL was very limitted so I had to make a MINI version of my office.
Since my space is very limitted, I had to come up with an idea of 'using space wisely'and I had to also combine that idea with the theme that I chose "giving new purpose", "puzzle" and my movement that i mentioned above.
So the idea that i came up with is:
I think this is the best example of it.
If you look at the inside of my office.
It looks empty and spacious but you can pull out the furniture whenever you want to by clicking it (There you have it, furniture can now work as pathways to walk over. It has a new use of it.). By doing this, you can use the limited space more effectively.
Meeting space.
Courtyard at the middle provided for resting. Or an outside meeting maybe.

Project 3 GAthering
Idea that I came up from gathering is: Puzzle
It matched the idea of gathering well.
I used this to come up with my final design of office.
It matched the idea of gathering well.
I used this to come up with my final design of office.
And the plan
Notice that shapes that are shown on the outside are different to the inside.
You will notice that they are actually 'invading' the space of their neihgbourhood office.
This 'invation' idea came from my first project which is 'waking up'. I concentrated my work on dinamic details and combined the waking up idea with the 'parasite' and 'invading' and I also used similar idea to this project (More info in my previous posts).
But 'invasion' here is quiet different... they go into each other's space to make 'connection' and 'unification'
which relates to 'gathering' Idea and the idea of my second project (laser cut: sustanance) -connection and relationship.
Also the secret behind the shapes are
It came out quiet blurry but it says
Office for architects' office: Most architectural and symmetrical shape so it relates to the architect.
Office for interior designer: T- shape represents T-shape ruler, which interior designer tend to use alot.
Office for Psycologist: Puzzle shape-from tetris. I chose this shape because of what I learnt in the lecture; Memory is not a tape recoder but it's stored like a 'puzzle' facts and gists.
Office & Studio for artist: Most abstract looking shape which have absolutely no meaning behind the shape.
Idea of facade:
Interior designer's facade (window). Idea came from the colour code (I'm not sure about the name...)
Psycologist's facade: simplified and abstracted shape of a braing structure.
Architect's facade: abstractly presented cityscape.
ARtist's facade: simplifed form of a brush stroke.

Final Model 1:1 Waking up
Final model in 1:1 scale. the materials used are aluminium panel, iron bar, wood panel and iron coloured paper to cover the wooden part (since I wasn't able to get my hands on larger metal panels.
Basically this is a small cut section of the train roof, which is the location of my project; on top of the train and also connected to the inside of the train.
In reality it's going to look like this, covering nearly one section of the train. (One person told me that my drawing isn't clear. I hope I could have shown a better image but this is all I've got for now).
First I started this idea from just having fun, finding some places where people won't usually sleep on (for example traffic light, on top of someone else's car or on the train).
--images of the research that I've done is shown on previous posts.
Than I developed my idea concentrating on dynamic details, and the idea that came out from is prasaite and gorilla occupation.
--images of that are also shown on my pervious posts.
Through this project I wanted show 'savageness' if that's a word or how it 'invades' or 'forces' itself to connect to something else. That's why I made a space that connects to the train at the same time showing the two objects difference by choosing a completely different material that contradicts to each other; dirty steel and clean wood.
There's also a reason why I chose that shape and gave folding affects. The original form of my project came from 'Grub' and 'Leech' which is also a parasite. Since the grub's buddy is divided into sections I also divided my structure into sections to give closer relationship to my developemental idea (parasite.)
